Who you are contracting with
itsbydavid is David Monzón, an independent AI systems consultant based in Guatemala. There is no agency behind it and no account manager. The person who scopes your project is the person who builds it.
Scope and price
Every engagement starts with a fixed price and a fixed scope, agreed in writing before any work begins. You will not be asked to book a call to find out what something costs. Published rates are on the pricing page, which is the authoritative source for both price and delivery window. A written quote for your project overrides the general rate card.
All prices are in US dollars (USD). Invoicing is available from Guatemala.
The shapes an engagement takes
- Fixed-scope projects — visibility audits, automation builds, agent and MCP work, websites and data layers. One price and one delivery window, both agreed before I start.
- Ongoing Partner retainer — a monthly block of hours, with no minimum term.
- Website Care Plan ($600/year) — hosting, domain, updates and support for sites I built. A flat yearly figure rather than hourly work.
- Hourly — for work that does not fit the above, scoped on the call.
Free first draft, on website projects
You see a real design for your business before any money changes hands. If you do not like it, we part ways and you owe nothing. This applies to website projects; audits and builds are quoted and scoped in the usual way.
Delivery
Each service on the rate card publishes its own delivery window, and that window is what I am committing to. If something would push past it — a dependency on your side, a change of scope — I tell you when I know, not afterwards.
Changes and revisions
Revisions are part of the scope we agree before I start, not a separate allowance to count down. What is included is written into your scope, in the same document as the price. If you want something outside it, I quote it before doing it rather than after.
Cancellation
The Ongoing Partner retainer has no minimum term. Stop whenever it stops being worth it.
The Website Care Plan is billed for the year and is not refundable part way through. The reason is plain: the hosting and the domain underneath it are paid for the year in advance, so a mid-year refund would be me covering a cost you have already used. If you leave, the site is yours and I help you move it.
A fixed-scope project that is cancelled after work has started is billed for the work done to that point, at the published hourly rate, and you keep it.
What you own
When the invoice is paid in full, the work is yours. The site, the code, the data pipeline, the agent, the MCP server, and the source files behind them. No licence to buy back, and nothing held hostage.
One thing I keep, and it is worth saying out loud rather than leaving implied: the generic pieces. Utilities, patterns and scaffolding I wrote before your project or would write again for anyone, I reuse. Nothing specific to your business, your data or your content is ever reused anywhere. That reservation is what makes it possible for one person to build the second client something better than the first.
The free scanner
The AI visibility check is free, has no account and stores nothing. It is a diagnostic, not a contract: it reports what crawlers receive from a page, and nothing in its output is advice you are paying for. What it does and does not measure is written on its own page.
